Auckland Portrait
After being intrigued by the overhead infrastructure of Wellington City a trip to Auckland deserved a similar treatment for a photographic essay. Only this time the fascination was the visibility of the city's infamous Sky Tower, the tower can often be seen wherever you are in the city. Sometimes blatantly in your face but other times subtly visible through a skylight or window. At 328 metres tall it certainly dominates the skyline, and provides an exhilarating place to jump off the top, with a cable controlled descent reaching 85km/h, well this is New Zealand!
Unlike Wellington, there are no city centre trolley buses or overhead cables, here the cables have been buried underground resulting in a neater environment, but not as atmospheric as its political capital!
